Delivery:
The production of a bell plate takes 5-6 weeks. This process cannot be accelerated due to production. However, there are different colors and shapes in stock. Ask for your favorite model. The color of the bell button (gold, or silver) can be selected.
Our bell plates are supplied with pre-assembled, with high-quality bell buttons, optionally in silver, or gold.
They are fastened by screwing them on.
On request, they can of course also get their bell plate without drill holes.
It is then glued to the house wall with a corresponding construction adhesive for tiles.
Please inform yourself about the suitability of the adhesive in a hardware store.
The material used is of course frost-resistant.
Colour irregularities, small dimensional deviations or unevenness in the glaze and shape cannot be ruled out and are characteristic of a handmade product.

▪️How are the bell plates delivered?

The bell plates come with a built-in bell button and instructions on how to connect the bell to.

▪️Colors: Is it possible to get RAL colors, or lighter, or darker, or darker variants of the shade instead of the colors shown?

Unfortunately, no. The colors vary, always a little, by the composition of the tone, which is not always quite the same, and the firing temperature, which fluctuates a little from time to time.
These color differences are minimal. However, it is not possible to make the colors lighter or darker.

▪️Is it possible to place boreholes so precisely in the plate that they fit over the old holes?

No, this is not possible, because the sound disappears when drying and during the two fires. This shrinkage can be calculated, but not to the millimetre, as the composition of the mass fluctuates.

▪️Why does it take 5-6 weeks for my door sign/bell plate to be ready?

I have many of my bell plates in stock. House numbers, signs with names, or out-of-stock bell plates, are made to order. I usually start manufacturing 1-2 days after I accept the order. After the shield is fully formed and, if necessary, painted, it must dry slowly between boards so that it does not warp. Then it is fired, then glazed and fired again. Each of the fires lasts about 3 days. After that, the bell button is used, if one is ordered.
In rare cases it happens that a sign or a house number breaks in the fire. I then make a new one right away, unfortunately the delivery is delayed again. The customer then gets a small surprise from me in the package and, if the order is a gift that is not ready in time, I send a gift card in advance.

▪️Why can there be small irregularities in the glaze or the shield?

The ceramics are shaped, glazed and painted by hand. I also apply the patterns by hand, sometimes with stamps (which in turn are handmade) which means that the depth of the patterns is not always the same. Some colors are created by applying and carefully wiping the glaze again, whereby the glaze remains in the recesses. Others by carefully painting the "ridges" of the pattern, leaving the recesses clay colored. I apply the font with a brush, or carve it into the clay and then wash glaze into it so that it stands out in the color. Slight deviations of the plates from each other are due to production and speak for the uniqueness of their shield.

▪️Is it possible to get each of the plates in different sizes?

That depends on the record. Making a plate bigger is usually not a problem. If you reduce the size of a plate, you cannot reduce the pattern arbitrarily.
